Mice are Nice

All the holes are entrances to their tunnel system. They're woods mice, not house mice, but they don't seem to know it. They gather birdfood outside the kitchen window, burrow back under the house, find their way into Kristina's bedroom, and store seeds in layers among the bedclothes in the doll bed, among my clothes waiting to be sorted into the closet, and among the dress-ups. We used to catch them in have-a-heart traps and let them go in the orchard, but lately I've been too worried that they may have a family to support to even want to do that.

He, or they, come peeking out if we stand still and watch through the window.

Mice eeek..even in the snow! That`s something I never knew. I guess they have their way to survive ..clever rodents!
